I am honoured to have my painting ‘Liberty and the Flying Fox’ and my painting ‘Amber Reflections’ published in the above Austrian publication with a very nice critique by Herr Heinz Playner. Here is the English translation of Mr. Playner’s critique.
“The Australian artist and sculptress Lyndel Thomas works in a refined technique of realism. The precise conception gives every work of art a charming atmosphere.
In the work of ‘Liberty and the Flying Fox’ the artist reveals in the employment of the technique of the old masters a particular play of colours. The beautiful lines and shadings entrance the viewer. The warm tones endow the painting with a particular feeling of being safe and secure. The fine execution of the motif engenders a lasting impression. The pastel tones of nature contrasting with the black dress of the woman demonstrate that for the artist it was important to imbue the theme with as much emotion as is possible. A particularly interesting idea is the little pig on the boulder. By means of the flying balloon in the hand of the woman the viewer is impelled to contemplation, which ties him or her to the work of art.”

I am thrilled that these three paintings have been short listed in the Triennale Competition, Italy. There is a 10,000 euro award along with some elected paintings being published as well as the elected works being exhibited in Palermo, Italy at the Politema theatre – Mirror’s Room in September 2016. So I’m hoping! In the meantime they will be exhibited in Verona in June this year.

I am so excited to have a painting published in this wonderful magazine. Thank you Salvatore Russo for inviting me. This is an old but favourite painting painted from life at the Victorian Artists Society Friday group which I no longer attend. I am now working with my own models.

I am delighted and honoured to be invited to have my work represented by Women’s Art World at the Museum of Marrakesh, Morocco. My work is exhibited in the Museum of Marrakech in the heart of the historic and renowned old city of Marrakech, and will remain there until March 25. It feels so good to be a part of an organisation that brings together women with nice values, generosity, tolerance, inter-cultural exchange, promotion of art in the feminine and world peace. Biennale Riviera del Brenta

I am honoured, humbled and thrilled to have been invited to exhibit in the Biennale Riviera del Brenta which takes place on April 23-25 2016 in the town of Mira at the Villa Valier, 10 minutes from Beautiful Venice, Italy. I am sending my little plein air painting done on my balcony on the Island of Skopelos in Greece last October.

PREMIO INTERNAZIONALE D’ARTE “IL DAVID DI BERNINI” 2015

I am honoured to have my work selected for the event The “Premio Internazionale d’Arte “Il David di Bernini” in Lecce, Italy Dec. 17th 2015 [Accademia Italia in Arte bel Mondo Associazone Culturale] The work portrayed in the catalogue is my self portrait on the Moolort Plains. The personalised statuette with my name arrived from Italy in a few pieces. I stuck him together again, however on hearing about the breakage this wonderful organisation said they will send me another one. I love dealing the Italian art scene. They have such good manners and ethics.
